Privacy Statement
1. The Specific e-Service "Registration for the TRKC e-bulletin"
The Transport Research Knowledge Centre (TRKC) is a web-based service and provides updated information on transport research results in the form of project summary reports or thematic analysis reports.
On the TRKC website an e-Service is made available in order to register for a regular electronic newsletter. This e-bulletin will keep readers informed about new items on the website and on key transport research events across Europe. The e-bulletins are sent out to all subscribers by e-mail on a regular basis. While registering your personal data will be collected and further processed for the purposes detailed hereafter under point 2.
As this e-Service collects and further processes personal data, Regulation (EC) 45/2001, of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2000 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions and bodies and on the free movement of such data, is applicable.
2. What personal information do we collect and for what purpose?
Identification Data
The personal data collected from the e-bulletin subscription forms and further processed are: e-mail address, name, organisation name, organisation type, country.
The purpose of the processing of personal data for the e-Service is the subscription to an e-bulletin (electronic newsletter) released by the TRKC project.
3. Who has access to your information and to whom is it disclosed?
The access to all personal data is only granted through UserId/Password. The mailing list survey is managed by the authorised webmaster.
The data are solely collected and further processed for the specific purposes laid down in this privacy statement and will not be used for any other purpose.
The data will not be shared with third parties for direct marketing.
4. How do we protect and safeguard your information?
The TRKC website and the collected personal data is stored on a secure computer hosted by an Internet Service Provider. Access to the website pages is via secure File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and is protected by a password and firewalls.
5. How can you verify, modify or delete your information?
In case you want to verify which personal data is stored on your behalf, have it modified resp. corrected, or deleted, please write an e-mail message to the functional mailbox address mentioned hereafter under "Contact Information", by explicitly specifying your request.
Special attention is drawn to the consequences of a delete request, in which case any trace to be able to contact you will be lost.
6. How long do we keep your data?
Data is entered from registration forms and publicly available project information (project profiles, results summaries, final reports…) and other reports submitted for addition to the website.
The data is kept during the lifetime of the TRKC project (planned end date: August 2009) unless the subscriber requests that it is deleted or the data is found to be out of date or incorrect. There is no direct synchronisation between the database and the website. Web updates are published only after the approval of the project manager/EC technical officer.
